Alice Grasveld

Alice Grasveld is a dental hygienist, medical anthropologist and PhD candidate at ACTA. She trained in Participatory Action Research at the SevenSenses Academy and uses PAR to improve the oral health of disadvantaged children, engaging communities as equal partners in research that prioritises experiential knowledge and aims to bring about meaningful social change. She founded The Healthy Teeth Foundation.

“In my projects, I work alongside children, parents, teachers, healthcare professionals and traditional healers. By taking their experiences and knowledge seriously and listening to their solutions, I believe that PAO can contribute to more sustainable and equitable improvements in the oral health of disadvantaged children.”
