Over the past years, the government of Uganda adopted the Millennium Development Goals and tried to reduce malnutrition in children aged under 5. Despite several intervention programs targeting parents, the reduction of child malnutrition has been insufficient.
Four students of the VU University Amsterdam joined the Nutrition Challenge for their graduation project. Due to restrictions of the VU University, this Challenge could not be PAR. Instead, the team performed qualitative as well as quantitative research with each separate research questions within the subject of nutrition in a slum community in Kampala, Uganda.
The overall goal of these studies is to provide recommendations to the local ministry and involved parties, that help reduce malnutrition among 0-5 year old children.
