Cheryl Bos is a researcher at the Innovations in Preventive Care research group at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. She previously worked at the RIVM on the “Learning Evaluation: Right Care in the Right Place” and “Action Research: Well-being on Prescription” programs, commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport.
In her doctoral research, Cheryl focuses on the implementation of social prescribing, in which care and support are aligned with the broader determinants of health. She is investigating how the medical, volunteer, and community sectors can collaborate more effectively. Through participatory action research, she is working to integrate social prescribing into daily practice and to develop an approach that better meets the needs of people with multiple challenges.
“What I enjoy most is combining scientific research with participatory action research, so that insights not only yield knowledge but also directly contribute to change in practice.”
