Loving Disruptor
Jiddo is not a policy-maker, but a facilitator. He creates space where it does not yet arise naturally, stirs things up where things can get exciting, and invites movement – from head to heart, and back again.
As a loving disruptor, he believes that real change cannot be organised, but far more often arises from closeness. He first moves towards the heart of the other person, so that from there they can search together for answers that do not yet exist – or that need to be found again and again.
In his way of working, Jiddo is deeply inspired by Jesus. For him, this is the foundation of his identity and the source of his loving disruption. Just as Jesus questioned existing structures and beliefs and set people in motion from within, Jiddo also seeks ways to create movement through closeness and relationship that goes beyond the visible.
With over 20 years’ experience in the police force, Jiddo knows the dark side of our society at first hand. He carries that experience with him, including the personal failures that have shaped him. They fuel his desire to invite people not to let their identity disappear behind their role, but rather to make it part of their work once again.
At SevenSenses, Jiddo works as a Participatory Action Researcher. He completed the programme at the SevenSenses Academy (May 2023 – March 2024), where he further developed his approach to observation, working methods and language.
In his day-to-day work as a strategic advisor for the City of Dordrecht, he explores and develops new ways of organising community-up initiatives, creating space for ownership, meaning and connection. This practice provides a living breeding ground for his work as a researcher and disruptor.
Jiddo is a ripple-maker, a space-maker – and someone who dares to get lost with others in order to find something that wasn’t there before.
